Trend Of Musicians Creating Instrumental Versions Of Their Music
I don’t know who has been whispering in musicians’ ears but there are a ton of new instrumental versions of alternative songs. It’s like they know we are all working from home and in dire need of music without lyrics as we write page after page of content for a website trying to rank higher and search engine optimization oh wait that’s me. Sorry, just got done my day job and have been dying to write about this all day!
In my new music discovery and release radar playlist on Spotify I received a bunch of instrumental songs from artist I really like. On one hand I think it’s really cool that musicians are taking the time to make alternate versions of their song, I really don’t like it filling up my release radar. I want new songs in my release radar. Maybe Spotify can create a new playlist for instrumentals by artist you love.
Look out “The Piano Guys” the original musicians are coming for your job.
Why Are Instrumental Albums Coming Out?
There are a variety of factors that could be leading musicians to creating instrumental versions of their music and they are all connected to Covid-19. It is likely instrumental albums are being released because musicians are unable to create music like they could before quarantine. They are also producing this music because they cannot make money in live concerts like they used to. The final reason is they have been sitting at home putting on these amazing live concerts online working with their own tech and a few of them got inspired!
Over the past few months I’ve noticed this trend of artists creating instrumentals of their songs. So I will try to compile a list of ones I know of (List is in progress, please don’t hate on me for how empty it is!). Feel free to comment below so I can add more to this list. And check back later because I will continue to add more instrumental versions of alternative songs to this list as they are released as as I find them.
