I really love Josiah in the Bonnevilles, not just because I met the guy and he’s hilarious, but because their lyrics hit just the right spot. Like a well aged bourbon Josiah And The Bonneville’s lyrics has the perfect mixture of mellow, relaxing, sadness and joy all at the same time. The reminiscent mixture leaves a satisfied longing for a simpler time. The same can be said of Josiah’s new song Daisy. Daisy was written by Josiah Leming and Jon Maquire.
In the song Daisy, so much is said with so few lyrics. For example:
“I bought a ring and a jug of wine”
That line tells a whole story, and a whole story of emotions! What is the story of Daisy?
The Meaning of Daisy By Josiah and the Bonnevilles
Daisy is an addiction. Breaking down the lyrics we can hear Josiah compare Daisy to coke and whiskey. It’s clear that she is his drug. He makes it clear he needs to leave but he can’t bear to leave her, he can’t say goodbye. Any boy in love can relate to this song.
Daisy Music Video Meaning & Things You Might Have Missed
In the music video for the song Daisy release November 26, we can see the lead singer Josiah step out of a green Ford Ranger. As he crosses the yellow tape of a crime scene, he bears the appearance of a private inspector crossed with an old fashioned sheriff. Inspecting the body he finds a tattoo a woman with the name Daisy below it.
The second scene of the music video solidifies the lyrical comparison of Daisy being a drug. A group of men all with the Daisy tattoo are meeting at an AA style meeting. There’s an empty chair indicating the man who died is missing from the group.
Josiah, investigating the crime asks the leader of the group, “Where can I find Daisy?”
He responds and says, “she works at the Crazy Horse.”
Onwards to the crazy horse our private investigator goes. Upon reaching Deasy he opens a door that leads to a room full of light. Once open and he falls away in shock. Who is behind the door?

Who Is Behind The Door In The Music Video Daisy?
Behind the door at the end of the music video is the one that got away, the love of your life. This song and music video isn’t just for Josiah, or Jon Maguire. This song is for us. This song is for those that have felt and those that have loved. So tell me, who is your Daisy?
I guess I have to say this is my personal theory, but the video and lyrics all point to it. What do you think?
Daisy By Josiah And The Bonnevilles Lyrics
As I was writing this blog post I realized there are no lyrics listed online for this song! So here they are (please comment any edits!):
Daisy
Your born to drive a man crazy
There’s coke and there’s whiskey
And there’s Daisy
I must be going out of my mind
I come back to you every time
Now my money’s all gone and
I wanna go home and
I swear that this is the last time
Daisy
Your born to drive a man crazy
There’s coke and there’s whiskey
And there’s Daisy
I bought a ring and a jug of wine
I took you down to the county line
Cause now I’m leaving and
I wanna take you with me
I just can’t say goodbye
Daisy
Your born to drive a man crazy
There’s coke and there’s whiskey
And there’s Daisy
Daisy
Young and mean
Life wrecking machine
Daisy
